Community Prosperity Summit

The Donner Summit Area Association (DSAA) is convening a community prosperity summit, also known as a “charrette”, to address the need for a process that includes all stakeholders in building a plan for the future.

Saturday, November 8, 2008
9am - 5pm
Sugar Bowl Ski Resort
Judah Day Lodge

Over the past three years, the DSAA has convened two "Summit Summits" and conducted an area-wide survey of homeowners. The message that we have heard through these events has been a clear desire by the community to revitalize the economic and social infrastructure of Soda Springs and the Old Highway 40 corridor up to Donner Summit without sacrificing historic and other values that we share.

This revitalization is the subject of the Community Prosperity Summit. The day will include a full background report of past and current conditions in the area, as well as an overview of what is possible by looking at what has been accomplished in areas with similar challenges and opportunities. The afternoon will be devoted to the participants working together to determine preferences and priorities, and to create a plan for the area based on shared values and existing conditions.

It is vital to the success of any planning for all voices and views to be heard. Please plan to join us for this important event. There is no charge to participate, but you MUST sign up in by November 1 so that we can have an accurate count for meals. Please sign up using our online form, or email info@DonnerSummitAreaAssociation with your contact information (name, mailing address, Donner Summit Address, phone, email, Donner Summit Neighborhood or other affiliation). Each person attending must register individually, so we have an accurate count for meals and materials. Lunch and snacks will be provided.

Update (9/27): The agenda is now available.
